DIY: Travel tote bag

It's always good to keep an extra tote bag, whenever you travel... because we never know how much shopping we will end up doing ;)

Hey loves,
In this post, I am sharing my newest Travel tote bag.. which you can actually DIY yourself.

So, Let's get started..

Materials required:

  1. Plain tote bag
  2. Acrylic colours'
  3. Card stock paper
  4. Water
  5. Colour palette
  6. Brushes
  7. sponge
  8. Pencil

Step 1: Place a Card stock paper or plastic bag inside the bag to protect the other side of the bag.

Step 2: Dip the sponge in water and apply it on the bag to make the bag slightly wet. This will help us in creating perfect shading for the background.

Step 3: Take some light blue colour in the brush and dip the same brush little bit in water and start painting on the bag. You can increase/decrease the intake of water in this process depending on how opaque/ transparent you want your background on the bag. Cover the whole front portion of the bag and keep it aside for drying completely for the next step.

Step 4: When the bag has dried completely.  Draw all travel essentials on a travel tote bag using a pencil.. to make it more easy you can even refer images from Google like I did for an aeroplane.

Step 5: It's the most fun part.. Colouring all the masterpieces you have drawn your bag.. So go ahead and be colourful.

I hope you liked this DIY.

7 Self sticky paper
8 Googly eyes

Step 1: Get a pair of plain white canvas shoes and remove shoe laces.

Step 2: Tuck in the shoes some tissue paper or newspaper to get rid of any waves or wrinkles while painting.

Step 3: Stick masking tape covering the lower edges of the shoes to protect the edges from paint while painting shoes.

Step 4: Basic colours we will use for Minion inspired shoes are Yellow and Blue. Paint the front portion of the shoe with blue colour.

Step 6: Paint yellow colour on the remaining portion of the shoe and when the colour is dried take out the goggles stencils from the shoe and you will get the perfect circle for goggles.

Step 7: Again make a circle on Self sticky paper but smaller then the circle used in step 5 and stick it inside the circle formed previously on the shoe for making goggles frame and colour the frame with light green colour.

Step 8: When the frame colour is dried remove the sticker and reveal the clean and nice frame.

Step 9: With black colour make strips for goggles.

Step 10: Add smiles to the below the eyes to make our Minion shoe happy happy.

Step 11: Stick googly in the centre of the frame to make it more lively.

Step 12: Remove masking tape from the edges of the shoes.

Step 13: Paint the laces light green or yellow or keep them as it is.

DIY: Clay Pendants

Hey Loves,
Creating something new and unique is always fun and peaceful.
Peaceful!! because, Art and craft gives me peace in life. My mind is probably on work 24*7 thinking about creative ideas and believe me, It does not get tired.

In this post, I am sharing with you the procedure of Clay pendants which are made of Shilpkar(white Mseal), But you can use any air drying clay, which gets hardened after drying.

So, Lets get started...

Materials required are:

  1. Shilpkar (white Mseal)
  2. Acrylic colours and paint brushes
  3. Wooden stamp
  4. Talcum powder
  5. Cutter
  6. Half cutted pearls (Self adhesive pearls)
  7. Glue
  8. Marker
  9. Toothpick for making hole

Carved Pendant

Step 1: Shilpkar comes with two clays, one is resin and other one is hardener. Apply talcum powder to your hand to avoid stickiness of the clay and mix both clays well till you get an even dough. After mixing both clays well, It will turn into white colour. Roll the clay like a ball.

Step 2: Apply talcum powder to the surface where you are going to give shape to the clay. Flatten your clay in an oval shape by pressing the clay with your fingers.

Step 3: Once you get your desired oval shape. Apply talcum powder to the top surface of the clay, so that our wooden stamp will not stick to the clay and come off very easily.

Step 4: Press your wooden stamp on the clay to get carved effect on the pendant.

Step 5: Make a hole on the top of the pendant with the help of toothpick to make the pendant wearable. (Once the clay gets hardened, you will not be able to make a hole afterwards)

Step 6: Time to add pretty colours to the pendants. For giving a royal touch to this one, I am going on with Fevicryl metallic gold acrylic colour for the non carved area of the pendants. You will have to do several coats depending on how opaque you want your pendant to be (let each coat dry completely before starting with next one) and then for colouring the carved area I am using Fevicryl metallic copper and pearl blue colour. Add one pearl in the centre with glue.

Step 7: Let the pendant dry depending on the instructions of your clay. My clay is fast drying so I have to keep it for drying for about 1 hour.

Step 8: Add strings to make it wearable.

Heart Pendant

Step 1: Shilpkar comes with two clays, one is resin and other one is hardener. Apply talcum powder to your hand to avoid stickiness of the clay and mix both clays well till you get an even dough. After mixing both clays well, It will turn into white colour. Roll the clay like a ball.

Step 2: Apply talcum powder to the surface where you are going to give shape to the clay. Flatten your clay in a round shape by pressing the clay with your fingers.

Step 3: With the help of marker or any writing thing draw a heart shape on the clay. You can also use any heart stencils for even more neat and precise heart shape.

Step 4: Cut the heart outline with the help of cutter and smooth out the edges by using flat surface of cutter's blade.

Step 5: Make a hole using a toothpick on the top right of the pendant If you want it to be tilted while wearing, (Once the clay gets hardened, you will not be able to make a hole afterwards)

Step 6: Colour your pendant. I have used Fevicryl pearl green acrylic colour.

Step 7: Add pearls to the pendants as you like.

Step 8: Let the pendant dry depending on the instructions of your clay. My clay is fast drying so I have to keep it for drying for about 1 hour.

Step 9: Add strings to make it wearable.

So, this was the procedure for making clay pendants. I hope you like it.

Recreation of beach stone

Hey Loves,

My post are more of best out of waste DIY's. I love to recreate things in my version of creativity. Creativity is a colourful get-away to my world of imagination and happiness and I just love to get into this ride for forever.

I love to collect beach stones and thus have a collection of many beach stones. I believe that, In this colourful world nothing should be left uncoloured. Hence i decided to paint my beach stones with my colourful imagination.

Below are the images of couple of my stone recreation.

Plain beach stones

Sunset theme

For this stone painting I have used Acrylic colours and directly painted my stones without any outlines but you can afcourse outline your design before painting it to make it more neat and clear.

I designed only one side of stone and simply painted the other side with no design but its up to you whether you want to paint one or both side.

Once the paint has dried completely seal your work using Mod-podge. You can also use nail polish top coat/transparent nail polish to seal your work but I feel comfortable with mod-podge.

In my first design i have tried to use sharpie permanent marker to outline my painted design and then applied nail polish top coat to seal my work but unfortunately my marker started spreading and I didn't wanted that hence I decided to use mod-podge.

If you are going to use nail polish top coat then just be careful that your work does not get ruined. May be you will not get this problem if you have a perfect trick to use nail polish top coat.

I am working on to paint my stones with different themes.

So stay tuned with us for more of stone recreation.

Thanks for visiting.

DIY Love inspired

Hi Loves,

My last post was about personalized gift for special people in our life, In this post i am sharing quite an old personalized gift.

For this project i have again used wood as my base. Some furniture work was going on in my house and there i got the perfect size of wood pieces i needed but you can easily get desired size of wood pieces at any nearby hardware store.

I have got this idea, when i visited a gift gallery and saw a showpiece. There were many with different relationships like sister, mother, father and many more. It was made using glass as a base but getting wood was simpler for me so i decided to make my personal one with wood.

As this project was done before i started my blog so i don't have step wise photographs for this project.. apologies.. ;) but still wanted to share this with you people.

I have used Hobby ideas Shilpkar for the hearts and border and Hobby ideas Acrylic colour for painting it.

This is just an idea, so open your creative box and give this idea of personalized gift your personal touch. Give it to your special person without any occasion and it will work like magic in your relationship.

Grab your tools and gear up yourself and enjoy a wonderful joy ride of creativity.

Hope you like this,
Thanks for visiting.
